Alpen Optics Owner and POMA Member Vickie Gardner Wins Prestigous Volunteer Award!

August 13, 2010 – Alpen Optics owner and Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) Member, Vickie Gardner, earned accolades today that she never expected, only this time it had nothing to do with optics.

I suspect she is used to awards for producing arguably the best optics available today (and at prices that virtually any hunter can afford), but she did not appear ready to receive POMA’s Betty Lou Fegeley Emerald Cornerstone Award for her extraordinary volunteer efforts within POMA and the outdoor industry in general.

My definition of “hero” is someone who “does human exceptionally well” and throughout her tenure with POMA (and certainly well before that), she has exemplified just that. She is a hero to many of us blue-collared hunters simply by offering world-class products and world-class service that should embarrass premium optic companies who price optics well beyond the pocketbooks of most hunters.

By all accounts, she dedicates herself to both Alpen Optics and POMA with the same uncompromising, integrity-driven, grassroots, homegrown, I’m-one-of-you approach. Supporting that drive is the simple fact that Vickie Gardner is one of us, a true hunter and lover of the outdoors that has a sincere appreciation for us average simpletons while maintaining a keen business sense focused on continuing to provide premium-grade optics at prices that are simply unmatched.

Vickie, thank you from Just-Hunt.com for your unwavering support of outdoor media and blue-collared hunters across the country, you certainly deserved your award today. Congratulations!

Hey Kevin, great article and review of the Alpen Optics, do you know if they make a range finder as well?? I thought with that kind of clarity it would be great to have something like that in a range finder. Thanks and keep up the great work.
